To turn on eQuake
– Move the cursor, hold left mouse button and move it to the upper right corner of the monitor (corresponds to 3:00 in the figure)
– Click inside the window to select eQuake alert.

– On the eQuake alert you should see the exact time and location of each quake.

“eQuake Alert” is a free addon for Firefox. It includes a quakes menu, and allows you to select the option “alert me when there is an earthquake in [my country]”.

To use eQuake Alert:
Select the “Add-ons” option. Then, choose “Add-on” from the menu on the left.
Then, choose “eQuake Alert” from the list of add-ons.
You can also use the context menu and choose “eQuake Alert” from the menu.
To start using eQuake Alert:
Choose the “Options” option.
Now choose “General” from the list of options.
Set the “Show alerts” option to “on”.
Click “OK” to save your settings.

Note: To reset the alerts, set the “Show alerts” option to “off”.

User Guide:

The Recent quakes menu shows the quakes in the last 30 days. You can filter the quakes using the “Filter quakes” option.

To make sure eQuake Alert is working, click the “Quakes” option and check whether the alerts are appearing.

The recent quakes menu provides links to the detailed information of quakes @ the USGS (US Geological Survey) website.

To use eQuake Alert:

Choose “Filter quakes” and click on the filter icon.

Now choose the options that you need.

eQuake Alert is also an extension of the quakes.USGS.org web site and the quakes.usgs.gov site. You can select the “Quakes In” option and choose the country from the drop down menu.

To use eQuake Alert:

In the options dialog window, select the method “Quakes In [my country]”.

Click “OK” to save the settings.

Note: The quakes.usgs.gov website provides the updated information on the quakes.

What’s New in the EQuake Alert?

This Add-on provides you a toolbar with the main features of the eQuake.

This addon displays a balloon with the last magnitude, and location of the earthquakes on your page.

You can also customize the timings of the shake and the balloon and even the text that will appear.

A more advanced version of this Add-on includes the recent quakes, so you can know the detailed information on the USGS website.
